Composite Dentistry - White Fillings
In finding ways to enhance our patients' smiles, sometimes we find that composite bonding is the best option. While in comparison to porcelain, composite bonding can present some drawbacks in terms of longevity, staining, and durability, it can produce a very conservative way to enhance the smile and Acrylic-like materials are layered onto the teeth and fused in place with the enamel.
If you have tooth decay or you wish to replace old fillings, composite is often the material of choice. These acrylic-like materials will be shaded and blended to look like part of your tooth structure.
Case 1
Description of Treatment: This patient had a combination of tooth wear and tooth erosion associated with higher than normal acidic levels. By bonding composite resin directly onto her teeth her smile was enhanced and rejuvenated.
